Companionship - 

 

Staying safe and healthy as well as living independently is difficult for anyone.  A Helping Hand can make this a reality by assisting clients with what they need to be comfortable and safe.

Our most requested care is for:

  • Making or sharing a meal, or just treats, as well as preparing future meals

  • Monitor Diet and Eating

  • Morning wake up activities

  • Transportation and escort to appointments as well as taking notes 

  • Laundry, ironing, dusting, vacuuming and light housekeeping

  • Stripping beds, washing sheets and making the bed with clean linens

  • Care for house plants

 

Others include, but are not limited to:

  • Letter Writing and Correspondence

  • Provide Respite Care for Primary Caregiver

  • Play Games and Cards & Trips

  • Aid with Reading

  • Organize, Pick-Up and Assist with Reading Mail

  • Prepare Grocery Lists, Cut Coupons, Grocery Shopping

  • Plan and accompany on Visits, Outings & Trips

  • Drop Off and Pick-Up Prescriptions, Dry Cleaning, etc.

  • Organize Closets and Cupboards

  • Walking with, or taking clients in their wheelchairs, indoors, and out

  • Nursing home visits

  • Gardening, and planting

  • Prescription pick-up

  • Reading

  • Medication reminders

  • Helping with pet care

  • Daily activities

  • Playing games or doing puzzles

  • Nutrition

  • Hospital visits

  • Visit with friends

  • Status reporting to the family
